Dear Herschel colleagues,

We think that the following announcement will be of interest for many of you.

EWASS 2017 Symposium 16: Science with a large cooled FIR Space Observatory - information and updated abstract submission details
============================================================================================================
The objective of this EWASS symposium is to discuss and evaluate the scientific rationale for a future FIR single-dish mission and offer the opportunity to the wide European astronomical community to participate and present their ideas with priorities. The output is aimed to be the European FIR Community input for future FIR missions of ESA and national space agencies, as well as input for our colleagues in the US decadal review.

This meeting will take place on 29-30 June 2017 as Symposium 16 in the European Week of Astronomy and Space Science (EWASS) to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 26-30 June 2017.

In addition to the invited talks, the symposium will include contributed talks and posters, with time for discussion. All posters will be displayed for the entire symposium duration. Although the symposium is science oriented, posters on telescope technology and instrumentation are welcome.

The general EWASS 2017 abstract submission deadline was 8 March, however, for Symposium 16 special arrangements are in place as follows:

To submit an abstract you are invited to use the following link:

AND then in addition please advice Thijs de Graauw (S16 Symposium Organiser) on the following e-mail address: <tdegraau@alma.cl>, that you have
submitted an abstract, attaching the abstract you just submitted to the email.

The new S16 abstract submission deadline is 22 March 2017!
